Archiving Your Work

If you’re an artist, your past work is more than just history, it’s your equity. Maintaining a proper archive of that work is not only a nice thing to do for your grandkids, it also might make you some money. If your portfolio is digital, we recommend backing up periodically to an external hard drive and portable media like DVDs. If your portfolio is print, invest in some acid-free sleeves in which you can store your prints. Put the sleeves in a box in a dry, dark place with a stable temperature and they should last longer than you.
